Dr. Ananya Banerjee

Academic Advisor

Dr. Ananya Banerjee is a South Asian Assistant Professor in Public Health at McGill University and the University of Toronto. She recently joined the advisory board for the Lancet GRacE taskforce to address racial inequalities both in the content they publish and the everyday environment editors operate in. She conducts community-based participatory research (CBPR), which is grounded in collaboration and partnership with racialized communities and knowledge users funded by SSHRC and PHAC. She also brings expertise in qualitative research, health promotion, health equity and intersectionality. Joel Poirier

Community Partner

Joel Poirier is a community organizer for The Integrated Health and Social Services University Network for West-Central Montreal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal. He also acts as a conduit between CIUSSS, a key stakeholder in Montreal’s public health effort, by sharing information about the neighborhood, the mobile vaccination van and upcoming vaccination sites. He has worked in the communities like Côtes-des-Neiges and Parc-Extension for over ten years.

Aurélie Grâce Igihozo

Community Partner

Aurélie Grace is Health services administration graduate, driven by the zeal to see communities thrive. Through the Centre-West CIUSSS and We Can Vax partnership, she coordinates vaccination activities and advises the team in various projects. Her passion is to build stronger and healthier communities, one neighborhood at a time.

Sheetal Pathak

Community Partner

Sheetal Pathak was community organizer for the CIUSSS Centre-Ouest de l'île de Montréal for Parc-Extension and involved in the project as part of her work on promoting vaccination.

Sasha Dyck

Parc Ex Resident & Community Partner

Sasha Dyck has been an active resident of Park Extension for ten years, serving on community boards and launching various initiatives with his neighbours. He helped run the COVID-19 testing clinic and is also helping as Chief of staff at the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough. He is also a research nurse and currently works as the national coordinator of a major research project in pediatric neurology He has high hopes that WeCanVax will engage his neighbours in knowledge exchange around COVID-19.

Dr. Juan Carolos Chirgwin

Parc Ex Resident & Community Partner

Dr. Juan Carlos Chirgwin is trained as a family physician of Chile descent. Since 2002, his principal place of practice has been in Park Extension, a municipality with a rich history of immigration and a current reality of continued passage of displaced people. He will bring his experience in engaging with patients and their families with their health and social issues, almost always under the lens of recent immigration and resettlement into a new way of life. Dr. Chirgwin has also been a prominent voice in the Canadian media advocating for vaccine equity in undocumented migrant groups - https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/vaccine-acces-park-ex-1.5983889
